Field Hockey

How is Field Hockey played?

Eleven players a side are on the pitch at any time and substitutions are essentially unlimited. Top-level international hockey is played in four quarters of 15 minutes.

Stick, shin guards, mouthguard and usually a hand protector. Goalkeepers wear at least a helmet, leg guards and kickers; on penalty corners outfield players may wear a face mask.
