How is Kabaddi played?

Two teams of 7 players face off on a divided court. The raider enters the opponent's half, chanting "kabaddi-kabaddi-kabaddi..." (to prove they are holding their breath), tags defenders, and must cross back over the halfway line. Defenders try to hold them.

What are the rules of Kabaddi?

• The raider must complete the entire action in one breath (no gasping for air allowed)
• A tagged defender is "out" and briefly leaves the court
• If the raider makes it back, every tagged opponent is out = points scored
• If the raider is stopped, they are out = a point for the defense
• If a player returns when all opponents are out on the field: a super tackle earns a bonus point
